Darrin Verhagen

Darrin Verhagen is a composer and sound designer interested in extending the abstract experience of music into other senses through vibration, movement and light.  His work in the RMIT Audiokinetic Experiences (AkE) Lab uses sound, motion simulators, 4D cinema seating, light and VR. Outputs from this creative practice have been exhibted in Scienceworks, the NGV, White Night, Experimenta. His recent application of this knowldege has been explored in Aged Care. Beyond the capacity for sensorially enhanced music to regulate mood, he is also interested in its capacity to stimulate memory and imagination in powerful ways
